Medical Education sector is open for all those who want to make a great career in the medical field. Options are galore for the students wishing to join this field as there are thousands of new jobs created by the rising India and the new hospitals and nursing homes that are opening at a fast pace by every passing day. Whether one wants to do a Graduate Medical Education on a regular basis or by doing a Medical Education Online course, options for a great jobs and stable career are very bright. Continuing medical education (CME) is said to a specific form of continuing education that helps all those who are in the medical field and need to maintain competence as well as learn about new, developing areas of their respective field.

The Medical Education Conferences may take place with the help of written publications, online programs, live events, audio, video, or any other type of electronic media. Faculty themselves prepare, develop, review, and deliver the content for these programs, who are experts in their individual clinical fields. Almost same process as that used in academic journals, any potentially incompatible financial relationships for these faculty members should be disclosed and resolved in a meaningful way. But the critics complain that the drug and device manufacturers mostly use their financial sponsorship to bias the CMEs to market their own products. Continuing Medical Education is not a new concept and has been in existence since the beginning of institutionalized medical instruction affiliated with medical colleges and teaching hospitals, when the health practitioners continued their learning by meeting with their peers. Rounds, case discussions, Medical Education Programs, and Continuing Medical Education conferences were held to discuss the published medical papers and to constitute the continuing learning experience in a way that was both healthy and progressive for everyone in the medical field.

During the 1950s till the later part of 1980s, CME was increasingly funded by the pharmaceutical industry and the concerns regarding the informational bias led to increasing scrutiny of the CME funding sources. Continuing Medical Education Credits led to the establishment of certifying agencies such as the Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education, which also serves as an umbrella organization to represent the different medical associations and bodies of academic medicine from the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, and Europe. Medical Education and in specific the Medical Education Online course also help to develop guidelines regarding drug detailing.
