XLRI School of Business and Human Resources, Jamshedpur, launched a certificate programme in agribusiness management in Hyderabad at the Loyola Academy in association with Ikisan, an agri-portal. The sixmonth, online self-learning certificate programme is designed for students who wish to supplement their basic agricultural knowledge with business skills and enhance their career opportunities.
The programme has essentially been prepared to impart agriculture management training and would help students understand marketing and sales in the agri-business industry. It is supposed to prepare agricultural graduates/post graduates and experienced candidates from other science streams for marketing and sales jobs in the agri-business industry.
The students who have completed or are in the final year of BSc/ MSc (agriculture or allied programmes) and other graduates with at least two years' experience in agribusiness would be eligible to enrol for this specialised course. Aspirants must possess the following, to take the entrance test: School leaving exam > 60 per cent GPA at the end of second year > 60 per cent equivalent One reference letter A statement of purpose Experience certificate (in case of non-agricultural graduates) The programme would be open for registration twice during an academic year, starting in August and January. The course content developed by XLRI and Ikisan would be available on www.Ikisan.com. The registered students would be able to download the material from the site. However, the students would be free to interact with the XLRI faculty through email or other means as suggested by the faculty of XLRI.
The students can also avail of the "Online tests" available on the site for practice.
