MP teacher held for molesting students
A MADHYA Pradesh teacher has been arrested for allegedly molesting some of his students.
He asked the girls — all adivasis — to remove their clothes saying he had to take their measurements for uniforms.
The incident took place at Barod Tapra village in Vidisha district.
“ The alleged incident took place on July 24. Sanjeev Sharma, a teacher at Ganjbasodas Nurpur Education Guarantee Scheme School, asked some students to take off their clothes saying he had to take their measurements. When the incident came to light, he apologised to the villagers. He has been arrested,” said Narendra Trivedi, sub- divisional officer, Ganjbasoda.
Sharma was arrested after the students confirmed the allegations during the preliminary inquiry, an official said.
Sharma was terminated from service on Tuesday.
“ The girls told the police that Sharma had stripped them in a closed room and taken their measurements,” said Manish Verma, the district education officer.
The victims are students of classes III and V. Vidisha is the home district of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
It is also the parliamentary constituency of the Bharatiya Janata Partys deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj.
