Scholarships which are provided by the External Scholarship Division of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development in Govt. of India to the students at the advanced level, graduate level as well as specialized level and are given out to assist all the students to conduct research at any of the University in Denmark and are not meant to carry out the regular study course. These scholarships are mostly given out from foreign governments to Indian students in the subjects of Dairy Technology, Atomic Research, for teachers of handicapped students, and Fine Arts.

The Denmark Government Scholarships are given for a time period of four to eight months with the monthly allowance of Danish Kroner 3,720 for graduates and 4,280 Danish Kroners for research scholars which is totally tax-free for up to a year. It is basically to cover the tuition fee as well as the living expenses of students. During this period, students are not entitled to take any of the paid jobs and may or may not include the to and fro air fare from India to Denmark. One also needs to meet eligibility criteria for Denmark Government Scholarships that they are citizens of India and living in India at the time of submitting the application. They must be less than below 33 years old and must have had a proven academic career time and again with at least 60 per cent marks on post-graduation level in relevant field of study.
