Tamil Nadu Open University, Chennai was established by an act of the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2002 to provide education to the people who are deprived of higher education like physically challenged people, economically weaker strata of the society, etc.

Admission Procedure at Tamil Nadu Open University :

The TNOU provides spot admission at its various centers in Coimbatore,Madurai, Gandhigram, Tirunelveli, Vellore, etc There are 34 counseling and study centers in Tamil Nadu out which 11 are exclusively study centers. Advertisements are published in the leading dailies of India for admission. The candidates are required to carry the following documents for spot admissions.

One self attested passport size photograph should be pasted in the form .
One should also carry attested photocopies of certificates of educational qualification ,birth certificates, certificate of category, address proof, passport size photographs, etc.
